After two highly acclaimed EPs, the Edgär duo unveil their debut album “Secret”. A dozen tracks make up this electro-pop-oriented record. The quality of the lyrics evokes moments in life, emotions and feelings: “Nuit” and its melancholy, or “Sable blanc”, which sings of past sorrows, refer to inner questioning and self-questioning. “Dictators”, an electro track, contrasts the gentleness of an inner world with real life. The acid pop of “The lights”, the acoustic folk of “Dead end” and the French chanson of “Réveille-moi” will take you on a dreamlike, soaring journey. “Me voudras-tu” is an ode to love, and ‘Incendies’, minimalist pop with simplistic, effective notes, will shake your sensibilities. Edgär is reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel, whose “the sound of silence” Edgär covers on the album’s closing track, and of France’s Phoenix. An album full of tender sweetness and reverie…
